Why not just a chatbot

Same question, a very different answer

A 30-something whose portfolio leans on Tesla. A generic AI gives platitudes; Opula answers with the real numbers.

A shaky day

Should I sell Tesla right now?

A generic AI

Investment decisions depend on your situation and goals. Diversification and a long-term view matter, and you should weigh your own risk tolerance.

opula

I won't tell you to buy or sell. Here's the fact, though: Tesla is 41% of your investments, so a 10% drop swings your investments by over 4%. What you're really anxious about isn't the market, it's this concentration.

Numbers are everywhere. Judgment isn't.

"Am I actually okay?" Ask the question you've been sitting on. Opula doesn't just throw numbers at you, it tells you what they mean for you, and what to watch out for.

Am I actually on track?

What happens on one screen

You ask, it runs the numbers, it answers

All three happen in the same place. No tabs to move between and no report to wait for, just the conversation you asked in.

  1. 01

    You ask

In the words you would already use. There is no account picker and no date range to set, because it already knows everything you own.

  2. 02

    It runs the numbers

A thousand runs against your savings pace and your assumptions. Not an eyeball estimate, the same rule-based math every time.

  3. 03

    It answers

Not just one probability. What it means for you, and the single lever that moves that probability the most.

The first rule of money people:
know everything

Opula holds your whole financial picture in one place: the Korean gold, the jeonse deposit, the unlisted stake that bank feeds and generic chatbots both miss. It remembers every asset across conversations, so you never re-explain yourself, and it reasons over them the same way every time. The record only grows more complete the longer you keep it.

Jeonse deposit

Unlisted equity

the private stake aggregators skip

Set each one's value in about ten seconds. Opula tracks it alongside your stocks, in your own currency, and folds it into every projection.

What no linking buys

No credentials handed over means none to breach

Opula never connects a bank or brokerage account. No Plaid, no scraping. A password we never hold is a password that cannot leak from us.

The record you builtInside the diamond your own record is linked together; every dashed line coming from the banks, brokerages, card issuers and exchanges outside stops short of the boundary.BankBrokerageCard issuerExchangeThe record you built

What it cannot do

  • Cannot buy or sell a security
  • Cannot move money
  • Never stores a bank login
  • Never sells or shares your data

What it does

  • Records and computes what you tell it
  • Proposes every change as a draft you approve before it commits
  • Reads only inside your own account
  • Deletes everything, whenever you say so

Month-end settle-up

Settle up this month. How much did my net worth grow, and why?

A generic AI

To summarize this month I would need your transaction history and income and spending records. Share them and I can help.

opula

Your June net worth rose +$8,200 to $312,000. Of that, +$5,000 came from your own saving and +$3,200 from the market rising. This month your own effort was the bigger driver.

Before a big decision

If this FOMC is hawkish, how much does my account drop?

A generic AI

A hawkish FOMC can generally weigh on risk assets. But the real impact depends on your portfolio, so an exact figure is hard to give.

opula

I won't guess the odds. But "if it happens," it's about -$2,700 on your investments (Tesla drops the most). Your normal daily swing is ±$900, so that's roughly three times a typical day.

01

That age isn't a guess

FIRE stops being a vibe and becomes a probability. Your savings pace, your assumptions, run 1,000+ times. You get the odds you hit your number, and the one lever that moves them soonest.

02

Why not just ask a chatbot directly?

You can, and it will eyeball an answer from whatever you pasted, then forget it by the next chat. That is not how money people work. Opula holds your real numbers, remembers them across conversations, and runs the same rule-based math every time. Same question, same rigor.

03

Once you have one, you ask different questions

“What if the Fed turns hawkish? What if your biggest position misses earnings?” Ask the questions you’d put to a private banker, and get a dollar answer sized to your real volatility, before the day, not after.

Frequently asked questions

What is Opula?+

Opula is an analyst that only looks at your money. Sign in and ask about your net worth, portfolio risk, or when you'll reach financial independence, and it answers with your real numbers. You can also connect it to the Claude or ChatGPT you already use and ask from there.

Does Opula connect to my bank?+

No. Opula never links a bank or brokerage account and doesn't use Plaid. You record holdings and cash flows in plain language ('bought 10 shares of Tesla'), so nothing depends on account credentials or a data aggregator. That's also how it tracks assets no bank feed can see.

Is my financial data private and safe?+

Your data is stored on its own, separate from every other user. Opula never links a bank or brokerage account, so you hand over no passwords. You can delete everything at any time. To answer a question, Opula sends only what that question needs to a model. Inside Opula that is the model we run. Through a Claude or ChatGPT connection it is the one you already use.

What can Opula actually do with my money?+

It reads and records, nothing more. Opula cannot place a trade or move money, because there is no brokerage or bank connection to do it through. Writes (adding, editing, deleting an entry) run only when you ask for them in the conversation, and your AI asks your permission before it runs an Opula tool at all. Reads are scoped to your own account.

How much does Opula cost? Is there a free trial?+

No analysis is locked. Market briefs, risk, recommendations and FIRE projections all run on the free plan. The only difference is how many questions a day you get: 3 on free, 100 on Pro, which is $9.99/month or $99/year. Recording, editing and drill-downs never count against either plan. Every new account starts on a 14-day Pro trial automatically, with no card required.

Why not just ask ChatGPT or Claude directly?+

You can. But a plain chatbot only sees what you paste. It guesses at an answer, forgets it by the next chat, and sometimes makes a number up. Opula holds your real figures. It runs the same fixed math on them every time, so the wording may change but the numbers under it never do.

Can I use it inside the Claude or ChatGPT I already have?+

Yes. Opula is also a standard MCP connector, so it works inside Claude and ChatGPT (and any MCP-capable client). Connecting just lets you ask the same data from there, so wherever you ask, the numbers are the same ones.

Can it track crypto, real estate, or non-US assets?+

Yes. That includes what bank feeds and other trackers miss: Korean physical gold, jeonse deposits, unlisted equity, crypto, and holdings in any currency. You type each value in a few seconds. Opula then tracks it next to your stocks and counts it in every projection.

Do I need to be a developer?+

No. Setup is signing in with Google. No API keys, no code, no configuration. Then you just talk to it.

Also inside the AI you already use

Ask right here in Opula, or connect it to Claude or ChatGPT and ask the same questions there.

Add to Claude now →

Opula opens with its name and URL already filled in. Confirm, sign in with Google once, and your account is created on the spot. Claude showing an "added from an external link" check is normal.

If the button doesn't open, do it manually
  1. 1

Open “Add custom connector” in Claude settings

In claude.ai in a browser (phone works too) or the desktop app, go to Settings → Connectors → “Add custom connector”.

  2. 2

    Paste this address

Paste the address below into the connector URL field and add it.

  3. 3

Sign in with Google and go

A sign-in screen appears once. Approve it and you can ask Opula right inside Claude.

Connecting is one button. No URLs to paste, no API keys to set up. It works from a phone too, and you can finish later on a PC with the same Google account.
